Early Signaling Dynamics of the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor

The epidermal growth factor receptor governs many key cellular processes by initiating cascades of phosphorylation changes in response to ligand binding. Despite extensive cataloguing of proteins in the EGFR network, we still lack complete understanding of how the components functionally interact in vivo. Here, we present a novel, mass-spectrometry based approach for measuring phosphorylation responses with high temporal resolution that elucidate the biological mechanisms that govern network behavior.
